I am trained as a Counselling Psychologist, accredited by
the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC). I believe in creating a safe and
supportive space for you to talk and share your experiences. I have 13 years
experience working in the NHS, charities & counselling services. I have a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, an MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and a BSc in Psychology. I work with both adolescents and adults.
I support people who are facing issues such as relationship problems, family
issues, stress, anxiety, low mood, low self esteem, eating disorders, anger
problems, illness, life changes, fertility issues, behavioural issues,
bereavement, addiction, abuse, existential issues such as a fear of loneliness/
death, feeling lost in life, among many more. I offer both short and long
term therapy and am trained in a variety of approaches including
Person-centered, Existential, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), and
Psychodynamic approaches. I also integrate Mindfulness into my practice, helping you to build awareness of your mind and body.
I am a pluralistic practitioner, which means I adapt my practice to you and
your goals. In my practice I aim to empower you to build your understanding of
yourself, develop new coping strategies, build your sense of self compassion
and overcome your difficulties.
I value and respect the courage it can take to begin therapy and believe in
providing a kind and non-judgmental atmosphere where you will feel listened to
and well supported. I work at your pace and I believe the therapeutic
relationship is part of what makes therapy effective and healing. I can usually
offer appointments within a fortnight. I work with several insurance providers
such as WPA, Cigna, Healix and Aviva. I have two clinics, one in the town centre of St Albans, and the other in the countryside within the grounds of Hatfield House. I also offer virtual appointments.
Sessions last 50 mins and cost £130.
